The Conestoga Valley Food Bank, serving families in the Conestoga Valley School District, was housed at and operated by Forest Hills Mennonite Church since it's inception in 1991. Local schools, pastors, and concerned family members and friends referred clients to the Food Bank.
Recently the Conestoga Valley Christian Community Services
, a non-profit organization of the Leola Ministerium that addresses food, housing, and clothing needs in our community, began overseeing the work of the Food Bank. A new name was adopted – Harvest of Hope Community Food Bank
– and the ministry moved to a new location – 2420 Gehman Lane, Building 1000, Lancaster.
Through its ties to the Ministerium, Forest Hills will continue to support the Food Bank and be involved in its ministry; we will continue to regularly collect non-perishable food items.
